Fees are calculated at £15 per Elf per hour for cleaning, £20 per Elf per hour for office-bound enquiries, £25 per Elf per hour for all other jobs (Monday – Friday 9am-6pm) and £30 per Elf per hour (weekends, bank holidays, before 9am and after 6pm). Time is billed in increments of sixty minutes. If the booking should go over the booked time, it is down to the House Elf’s discretion to dictate how many hours to bill for. House Elf reserves the right to change these prices when they see fit. Current clients will be notified in due course. Where there are 2 different price brackets for cleaning and other such chores, if the nature of the booking should change throughout the job (from cleaning to gardening, for example), the first job (cleaning) shall be finished and calculated to the nearest hour and then the second job (and second price bracket) shall start from there. Please ask for more details.
When booking Elves, the client agrees to pay House Elf, at least, the time for which they book. The client agrees to pay House Elf the total charge within two days from the date of job completion unless otherwise stated. Invoices for fees will be issued at the end of job completion verbally, via text or email. If a booking is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, the client is subject to cancellation fees. If payment is not received within two days from the date of completion or otherwise stated, a £10 per day fee will be added to the bill or retrospectively where necessary. Payment on account
After completion of the job, the agreed amount will be deducted from the client’s account. As the account balance decreases, House Elf will notify the client of this in time so there is enough money for the following job/s. Costs for transport and other such sub-charges must be paid for separately. House Elf reserves the right to deny any booking if the client does not have enough funds in his/her account. Please note that gift vouchers have a shelf life of 12 months from the date of the first confirmed booking.
House Elf and the Client will endeavour to keep all negotiations and any information held on either the client or House Elf that is not readily available to the public, private and confidential. House Elf and the client will only disclose such information with the permission of the other party or in so far is it is absolutely necessary to carry on the booking efficiently.
House Elf will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the services rendered to the client regarding the booking are of the highest order.
House Elf will make every reasonable effort to ensure the suitability of any company, service provider or Elf introduced to the client or used for work on the booking but shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, expense or delay to the client resulting from their introduction, use, actions or for any information provided by them either to House Elf or to the client.
The references of any company, service provider or Elf will not be obtained by House Elf unless so requested by the client and then only with the other party’s consent. House Elf shall not be responsible for any reliance placed by the client on any information supplied by a third party.
Further client obligations
If House Elf’s performance of its obligations under this agreement is prevented or delayed by any act or omission of the client, its agents, sub-contractors or employees, House Elf shall not be liable for any costs, charges or losses sustained or incurred by the client arising directly or indirectly from such prevention or delay.
The client shall not, without the prior written consent of House Elf, at any time from the date of this agreement to the expiry of six months after the completion of the booking, solicit or entice away from House Elf or employ or attempt to employ any person who is, or has been, engaged as an employee or subcontractor of House Elf in the provision of the Project.
Limitation of liability – The customer’s attention is particularly drawn to the provisions of this condition
This condition sets out the entire financial liability of House Elf (including any liability for the acts or omissions of its employees, agents and sub-contractors) to the client in respect of:
(a) any breach of this agreement or any contract;
(b) any use made by the client of the services of House Elf; and
(c) any representation, statement or tortious act or omission (including negligence) arising under or in connection with this agreement or any contract.
All warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law are, to the fullest extent permitted by law, excluded from this agreement and any contract.
Nothing in this agreement limits or excludes the liability of House Elf:
(a) for death or personal injury resulting from negligence; or
(b) for any damage or liability incurred by the client as a result of fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation by House Elf
(c) for any liability incurred by the client as a result of any breach by House Elf of the condition as to title or the warranty as to quiet possession implied by section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982.
Subject to the above:
(a) House Elf shall not be liable, whether in tort (including for negligence or breach of statutory duty), contract, misrepresentation or otherwise for:
(i) loss of profits;
(ii) loss of business;
(iii) depletion of goodwill and/or similar losses;
(iv) loss of anticipated savings;
(v) loss of goods;
(vi) loss of contract;
(vii) loss of use;
(viii) loss of corruption of data or information; or
(ix) any special, indirect, consequential or pure economic loss, costs, damages, charges or expenses.
(b) House Elf’s total liability in contract, tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty), misrepresentation, restitution or otherwise arising in connection with the performance or contemplated performance of this agreement and any contracts shall be limited to two times the price paid for the services on the project.
No such termination fee shall apply nor do we require any written notice to cancel this agreement. However, if any client should wish to opt out of our service at any point, all monies should be paid and collected within 7 days of the last booking. Any monies still owing after these 7 days will incur a fee of £20 per day (including weekends).
House Elf shall have no liability to the Client if it is prevented from or delayed in performing its obligations under this agreement or a contract or from carrying on its business by acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond its reasonable control, including strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes (whether involving the workforce of the client or any other party), failure of a utility service or transport network, act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm or default of suppliers or sub-contractors.
No variation of these terms shall be binding unless in writing and signed by or on behalf of both the client and House Elf. House Elf reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions without notice to the client.
Any job which entails a removal, clear out, delivery to the local rubbish tip or any other job requiring a vehicle, the vehicle costs are paid for, solely, by the client. All House Elf transport is booked via Zipcar. To ensure prompt arrival at the booking destination and also return to the Zipcar bay, the vehicle may have to be booked 30 minutes before and after the agreed booking time to avoid any late penalties or charges. Where appropriate, an alternative vehicle hire company may be required. If so, extra charges may apply regarding petrol, congestion charge, damage waivers, etc, however, every effort will be taken to keep the total spend to an absolute minimum. If alternative companies (not Zipcar) are used, House Elf will always include FULL insurance on the vehicle. Please be sure to ask for more details. House Elf accepts no responsibility for damage/late fees, etc for any form of transportation due to the behaviour or negligence of the client. The client is required to gain prior knowledge of any parking restrictions which may face or hinder any vehicle for a House Elf booking. House Elf holds no responsibility for parking charges incurred where knowledge was not already gained, in advance, by the client. If parking permits are required for any form of transport, House Elf kindly requests the client to provide if available. Where parking meters are necessary, House Elf will factor this into the booking and seek equal compensation at the end of the booking unless the client provides the money themselves.
On confirmation of the client’s booking, both House Elf and the client agree to all the points found above.
House Elf do not make amendments to client’s property. Jobs of these matters are outsourced to separate companies who are both professional and qualified. IKEA furniture constructions only will be considered, but not guaranteed. It is the client’s responsibility to book the appropriate number of House Elves for any furniture construction, which we agree to undertake. An inappropriate number of House Elves may result in injury or damage to property. Any damage to property based on the inappropriate number of House Elves booked, is solely down to the client.
